This page provides you with information related to Summer and Fall 2026 courses, advising organizations, as well as information about the deprecation process for our Blackboard environment, happening now until June 2028.
Course of record shells for Fall 2026 courses have been created in Canvas and are now available on your Canvas Dashboard, under “Unpublished Courses.” If you can’t locate your shells, contact your chair to ensure you are listed as the instructor in Colleague. QILT cannot enroll you as an instructor in a course of record.

Remember, all courses in Fall 2026 will use :canvas: Canvas and your course content will not automatically be moved from Blackboard to Canvas**.** If you would like to move content, we highly recommend meeting with a learning designer who can guide you through the considerations and process. Certain features (e.g., tests and pools) may not move cleanly, and many faculty find it easier to rebuild in Canvas instead.

Advising organizations have been created in Canvas and are now available on your Canvas Dashboard, under “Unpublished Courses.” Your advisees will not be able to access the organization until you publish it (if you choose to do so). If you have questions or need support, submit a QU IT ticket.

Dear Faculty and Staff, As previously announced, Canvas will serve as our primary LMS for all courses beginning in Fall 2026. Blackboard will remain available under our current contract through June 30, 2028, for access to historical materials and records, however, they have confirmed that Blackboard Learn Original will be deprecated on December 31, 2026.
